iRemember Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

iRemember (“we”, “the app”) is a personal organization app that helps you remember where you stored everyday items, manage credentials, store important documents, and keep track of personal contacts and Wi-Fi networks. This Privacy Policy explains what is collected, how it is used, and your choices.

2. Account information

Your account is created and stored on your device. You may optionally sign in with your Google account, which is processed through Firebase Authentication so we can confirm it is you. Profile fields you choose to save (such as display name, photo, or bio) are stored on your device with your account. We use this data only to sign you in and personalise the app.

3. Vault data (local only)

Everything you save—items, notes, bank cards, credentials, personal contacts, Wi-Fi networks, documents, photos, reminders, and history—is stored locally on your device in the app’s on-device database. That database is encrypted, and its key is generated on your device and held in the hardware-backed keystore, so the file cannot be read by another app or by anyone reading the storage directly. Document files you attach are encrypted the same way and copied into the app’s private storage. iRemember does not upload your vault data to any cloud storage. Because it is local-only, uninstalling the app permanently deletes your data; it cannot be recovered from iRemember afterwards.

3a. Security features

iRemember protects your vault with several on-device measures:

• A 6-digit MPIN required to open the app, plus an optional Vault Lock and Credential Lock for sensitive sections.
• Optional fingerprint unlock, and MPIN reset via your device fingerprint if you forget it.
• Screenshot and screen-record protection on sensitive screens.
• Sensitive values (phone numbers, card numbers, passwords) are masked on list and home screens.
• An inactivity cooldown that re-locks the app after it is left in the background.

4. Permissions

iRemember asks for very little. Depending on features you use, it may request:

• Notifications — for item and note reminders.
• Approximate location — for the weather panel on the Home screen, and to fill in where an item is kept if you ask it to.
• Fingerprint — only if you turn on fingerprint unlock. Your fingerprint stays in your device's secure hardware; the app only ever learns whether it matched.
• Internet — for optional Google sign-in, the weather panel, and news headlines.

Three things it deliberately does not ask for:

• No microphone. Voice search hands off to your device's own speech recognition app, which records the audio and returns the text; the recording never passes through iRemember.
• No camera permission. Taking a photo for a record opens your camera app, which returns just that one picture.
• No photo-library or file access. Attaching an image or a document opens the system picker, and iRemember receives only the file you chose — it cannot see the rest of your gallery or storage.

You can revoke permissions in your device settings. Some features will stop working without them.

5. Third-party services

The following features connect to online services, none of which transmit your private vault data:

• Google Firebase Authentication — only if you choose to sign in with your Google account, to confirm your identity.
• Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) — for the Home screen weather panel. Your approximate coordinates are sent with the forecast request so the weather matches where you are. If you decline the location permission, a default city is used instead and nothing about your location leaves the device.
• Google News RSS — for the News screen. The request includes the country your device reports, so the headlines are local ones.
• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — to serve banner advertisements in the app. AdMob uses device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID) for ad delivery, fraud prevention, and analytics. Pro subscribers receive an ad-free experience.

Your device’s speech recognition service also handles voice search, on the device or through its own provider, depending on your device.

Like any internet request, these reach the service from your IP address, and each service handles that under its own privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information, and your saved records are never sent anywhere.

6. Retention

Everything you save stays on your device until you delete it, delete your account, or uninstall the app. Nothing is kept on a server, so there is no copy for us to retain.

• In-app History entries are automatically cleared after 30 days.
• Found-item retention on the device may also follow the app's 30-day cleanup rules for certain found records.

7. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app: open Profile → Settings → Danger zone → Delete Account, and confirm by typing DELETE.

This erases, on this device and immediately: every item, note, bank card, credential, personal contact, Wi-Fi entry and document; every attached file and photo; your history; your profile and profile picture; your MPIN, Vault Lock and Credential Lock; your saved searches and Quick Access layout; and your pending reminders. Nothing that identifies you or belongs to you is left — only device-wide display preferences, such as where the floating button sits and which news region is selected, which are not tied to any account. There is nothing to recover afterwards, so export a backup first if you want to keep a copy.

If you signed in with Google, the app also asks Google to delete the sign-in record it created for you. Google may require you to have signed in recently before it will do that; if it refuses, your data on this device is still erased, and you can remove the app’s access yourself at myaccount.google.com under “Your connections to third-party apps”.

Uninstalling the app has the same effect on your data, but the in-app option is the one to use if you want to delete the account and keep the app.

8. Uninstall and data loss

Uninstalling iRemember removes all local app data on your device, including saved items, photos and documents stored by the app, reminders, and history. iRemember cannot restore that local data after uninstall because it is not synced to iRemember servers. If you signed in with Google, the sign-in record Google created is not removed by uninstalling — use Delete Account (section 7) before uninstalling if you want that removed too.

9. Children’s privacy

iRemember is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided account information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the app after updates means you acknowledge the revised policy.
