Delete Your UniRemote Data

Your data stays on your phone — and you can erase it in one tap.

UniRemote does not store your paired remotes, device nicknames, or preferences on any external server. Everything is saved strictly inside Android's private DataStore sandbox on your device. You can purge everything instantly at any time.

1. Complete Data Sovereignty

Unlike cloud-connected smart home apps that maintain profiles on remote servers, UniRemote is built without an internet permission. PMC Labs maintains zero copies of your paired devices, favorites, or search terms. Deleting your data happens entirely on your phone without waiting for customer support or account deletion queues.

2. In-App One-Tap Data Reset

To wipe all paired appliances and preferences directly within the app:

Open UniRemote on your smartphone.
Tap the Settings gear icon in the top right.
Scroll to the Storage & Data section.
Tap “Reset Application Data”.
Confirm the prompt. All paired appliances, customized buttons, and recent searches are instantly erased.

3. Clear via Android System Settings

You can also purge all app records through Android's native app settings:

Open your phone's Settings → Apps → Manage Apps.
Select UniRemote from the list.
Tap Storage → Clear Data (and Clear Cache).
All local DataStore records are immediately unlinked and removed from device storage.

4. Google Cloud Backup Considerations

If your device has Android Auto-Backup enabled, Android may include UniRemote's preferences in your private Google Drive device backup. To remove this:

Go to Android Settings → Google → Backup.
Under App data, you can disable backup for UniRemote or delete the saved device backup.

5. Uninstalling the Application

Uninstalling UniRemote permanently destroys the private sandbox partition assigned to the app by the Android operating system. Once uninstalled, all local data is non-recoverable.
